I lived down there for approx 5 years and didn't get any shot. I didn't realize that I needed to have shot. I was lucky I didn't catch anything. Just be extra careful, don't drink the water, even the bottled water that is made in Mexico. Be careful of even the ice cubes. I hope this helps
