For those who have been to Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan only? |
Travel Info We are thinking of going to Mexico again this winter, we have been to PV twice and really like it, but we think it might be nice to try a different area. How would you compare Mazatlan with PV, in terms of town center, beach, hotels, excursions? Also is their a particular all-inclusive resort you would recommend? Travel Tips Mazatl谩n is more "Mexican" than Puerto Vallarta, more a working city than a tourist resort. In PVR, it seems *everything* along or near the beach is owned, managed, and patronized by English-speaking foreigners. You have to make a special effort to connect with the locals and see "real" life. In MZT, the "tourist zone" is more compact and the local scene (people, markets, bars, side trips, industry) is more accessible. MZT offers many attractions similar to PVR -- except for maybe the jungle canopy tours -- but on a smaller scale and a sometimes seasonal basis. MZT's malec贸n, the beachfront walkway, beats PVR's, Acapulco's, and most others' hands-down. Sunrise, sunset, and most all day, it's a great place to stroll, jog, or just sit and people-watch. My resort of choice in MZT is The Inn At Mazatl谩n. It's in the Zona Dorada (the tourist zone), right on the beach, and it offers an all-inclusive option. Others id="askers-rating"> |
