Coldest month(s) in Melbourne will be between end of June to mid September. Afternoon temps are abt 12C-15C. Morning temps are abt 2C-4C. No snow in the city though. Hope this helps. Others generally august would be the coolest month and the temp can get to around 15degrees celcius maybe uh uh - July is- its colder than what she said above me- average temperature maximum during the day is 13 degreses! CAN be down to 5 on the coldet of cold days- (thats extremely rare) but usually once a month in winter it will be around 10 during the day! nights around 6 degress ! btw these temps are in celcius! June to Mid-September are the coldest months in Melbourne because it is winter season. Melbourne may be the coolest mainland Aussie city due to its location (Tasmania is colder) but compared to winters in London & New York it's probably, at a guess, 10 -15 degrees warmer in the Winter than those places. Winter only lasts a couple of months and Melbourne does get blue skys in the winter. The rest of the country think it's cold and comparativly it may be but certainly not freezing as some may suggest.
