Will it cost much in taxi fare to travel from the hotel Windsor Melbourne to the Melbourne zoo & FDO Essendon? |
Travel Info First time we are going to these places and second time ever in Melbourne so aren't positive where they are situated from our hotel Travel Tips i can't really help with the location of your hotel to those places, but i would suggest that you catch a tram to the zoo, it will be a lot cheeper than a taxi, also i think you mean DFO at essendon, there is a DFO on Spencer street in the City and you can catch a tram there, it is a little more difficult to get to Essendon DFO by public transport. But taxis can be pricy. I caught a taxi on a 10 min trip and it cost me almost $20 you can have a look at http://www.whereis.com there you can check where the location of your hotel is aswell as the distance to the zoo and DFO. if you specifically want to go to Essendon DFO taxi would be the best bet, but i would suggest you catch the train to Essendon Station then catch a taxi from there, it will be heaps cheeper than from your hotel. but as i suggested previously there is a brand new DFO on Spencer street at Southern Cross station for the Zoo i strongly recomend catching a tram. Others I would suggest catching the tram out to the zoo. Just go down bourke or collins street, and jump on the elizabeth st tram which goes right past the zoo. YOu would have to check the number as im not sure which one. As for the DFO, I would just head to the one at Spencer Street. Its not as big, but it has the same stores. If you are determined to go to the Essendon one, again, you can jump on a tram to Essendon, then catch a cab from the terminus there. A taxi will cost you up to $30 from the city. Hire a car with GPS. GPS is really great - it takes the pressure out of navigating to a new place. 1 dollar Taxi fare to the Zoo approximately $20and ' Bekka' is right, there is a DFO at Spencer Street in the City.Bekka is also right about the trams especially going to the Zoo. They are easy to use--the information is at each tram stop and they are an excellent way for visitors to see a lot more of Melbourne than travelling by car. You can even dine or have luncheon on special trams! |
