I Need A cheaper living place.. In Melbourne of Australia? |
Travel Info I go to australia for study in these days.. i got addmission in Hales institute of melbourne.. But i couldnt find any hostel that i could afford that.. I need you friends to tell me about a cheaper hostel or room in Melbourne which should be near my college .. i mean Hales institute of Melbourne... Travel Tips G'day, Living in city is definitely expensive. My suggestion will be to find a flat in the inner suburbs. The rent will be cheaper, as you can share them with someone else. The only thing is that most of them are unfurnished, so you may have to spend some money to buy furniture, altho nowadays you can buy it from the students who have finished their study and selling their furnitures fast (and cheap). Some of the favorite suburbs for students to live are as follows: Carlton Fitzroy North Melbourne Hawthorn Southbank Toorak South Yarra Camberwell Auburn These suburbs are easily accessible by public transport, so it's quite cheap to travel as well. Hope this helps. Good luck with your accommodation hunting :) Others Unfortunately rental shortage means prices are very high these days in Melbourne. Usually the further out from the city, the cheaper the accommodation; with the cheapest being shared housing. You'll be lucky to get a room for under $100 p.w. Try to find accommodation on the same tram line as your college, as it's the safest & most convenient & reliable form of transport. you can check all those backpacker places online, book for few nights while you can look around in melbourne to find some cheap student accommodation. well, this was what i did when i first came to australia. but be prepared, because the rental is really expensive! good luck :) |
