WEDDING HELP in Melbourne? |
Travel Info I need your help.. I am getting married next March and i am looking for a church to get married in, i am orthodox. but my church doesnt speak english, which is a problem, i would like to know what i am saying yes to :) I am a Christian, and would like to get married in a church, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks heaps Travel Tips Let me get this straight: You speak English and are Orthodox and a Christian. Your church performs services in a language other than English. There are many Orthodox churches in Melbourne - I can't imagine all of them perform services in only one language. You know that there are no vows in the Orthodox Sacrament of Marriage. If you're not heterosexual, the Orthodox church does not perform weddings between brides - I don't know if bride to bride marriage is legal in Australia but if it is - the church won't do it for you. Maybe just settle for a courthouse ceremony unless more details are provided.... Others You should ask a priest Well there is absolutly no shortage of GREEK orthodox churches, with a few macedonian and russian ones too. My regular is the Coburg orthodox ohurch, which is pretty accessable. The predominantly greek areas almost always have an orthodox church...and yes they speak greek :O) |
