What museums are available to visit in Melbourne? |
Travel Info I'm visiting Melbourne for a few days with an overseas friend who likes museums, and we'd like to know a few we can visit. Preferably ones that are close to public transport, eg trains or trams. Travel Tips Here are the names of some Museums and the links to the websites so you can get more information: Melbourne Museum: http://melbourne.museum.vic.gov.au/... Immigration Museum: http://immigration.museum.vic.gov.au/... Museum Victoria: http://www.museum.vic.gov.au/ Scienceworkd Museum and Planetarium: http://scienceworks.museum.vic.gov.au/... Others try going to the old melborne gaol, we went and had a great time, its a bit spooky and atmospheric, but its full of interesting things to see, and we got a tram to just near by, they will point out on the tram which one do get of at G'day, Anakassandra is quite good, altho not listing all museums on the countryside as well that you friend may find very interesting. I enclosed the weblink from Melbourne's info website. It has a little bit more abt museums and other stuff in Melbourne. Enjoy your trip and welcome to Melbourne. Please bring some umbrellas and warm clothes though :) http://www.visitmelbourne.com.au/display... There is the immigration museum on flinders street. There is also the melbourne museum. Melbourne Museum is walking distance from Parliament Train Station. Scienceworks is great too, but not sure of the public transport to that. Libby |
