Travel Tips
G'day,

I live in Point Cook, which is 5 minutes away from Werribee, so you are going to get a rather bias information from me ;)

Werribee, Hoppers Crossings and Point Cook are the emerging new estates area that getting more and more famous amongst Melbournians (especially young families) who are just starting to establish themselves. Rather than looking further and further to the East, South East and South of Melbourne (which what most ppl are looking), Werribee is only abt 15-20min driving west from Melbourne CBD (during off-peak hr), so not too far at all.

The area is also served by train and buses (zone 2). It is also quite close to Footscray, so if you are looking for Asian foodstuff, you can easily find it there.

I am enclosing 2 websites that lists available property around Melbourne. The 3rd website is one of the main real estate in Point Cook area.

Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au if you have more questions abt Werribee and surroundings :)
Good luck and welcome to Melbourne. Source(s): www.realestate.com.au

Other Travel Tips
All I know about Werribee is that its two most famous locations are the Werribee sewerage plant and the Werribee zoo. You can smell that treatment plant for miles, it's just about the most awful thing I've ever driven past. I hear the zoo is very lovely, though.
Poor old werribee used to have a terrible reputation .. It was considered a joke by many other people in melbourne .. all due to the sewerage treatment plant ..

BUT it turns out the joke was on the rest of us ... as Werribee is once again gaining the reptutation ( as it had PRIOR to the sewerage treatment plant) of being a very beatuiful suburb....

Can I suggest you visit BEFORE you make the move to work and have a look yourself ..

Batako's answers are always very good and as he lives closer to Werribee than I do ( I'm on THE OTHER side of melbourne)... I'd accept what he says :)
Yes it is, It's a nice quiet place to live around that part of Melbourne
