Travel Info if you have is it prettier than america or the same? Travel Tips It is prettier then most US cities due to the extensive parkland and gardens. Victoria once had the official motto of the garden state, before the government decided that was too fuddy duddy and changed it "Victoria on the move" which means nothing and becomes less relevent over time. There are a lot of beautiful gardens surrounding Melbourne such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Fitzroy Gardens, Treasury Gardens, Zoological gardens etc etc. Few US cities would have as much parkland that lost to the CBD. The Yarra river runs through the city and the city views from along the Yarra are particularly good and feature a lot during the Formula 1 telecast from nearby Albert Park Lake or from events at the MCG or the tennis at Rod Laver Arena. The architecture could never compete with an old European city but there are plenty of examples of gold rush era facades and a lot of interesting modern architecture such as the new museum and the new federation square. Others Melbourne is pretty, I am more partial to the USA. Lived across the country and I perfer the Mountains of the SE United States, North Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina. i am from melbourne and it is the best city in Australia the night life culture food and shopping are amazing!!! u will never be bored there!! we have the rialto the tallest building in the city, crown casino, melb aquarium, botanical gardens, chadstone shopping centre (massive!!) chapel st (shopping) lygon st (food!!) Melbourne is awesome and a really liveable city. I would probably put it on par with San Fran. Beautiful, clean, great shopping, awesome nightlife and natural beauty not too far away. Melbourne is the best city to live in the whole wide universe!! I might be a lil biased though haha Melbournian Melbourne is nice, but I prefer it only once in a while, the suburbs are more suited to me. |
