Travel Tips 1 - Southbank Lots of restaurants along the Yarra river, great visually and fire lights up at night on the hour. 2 - Flinders St Station and Federation Square. Information centre is there also. 3 - Port Melbourne. Great spot also for restaurants, has bars and is along Port Philip Bay. 4 - Healsesville Sanctuary - Just outside Melbourne their is a nature park with Kangaroos, Koalas etc but more out in the open than a standard zoo. 5 - Great Ocean Road - No trip to Melbourne would be complete without this great drive. 6 - See the AFL 7- Philip Island. Penguin Parade. There's so much more here. Go Melbourne! Others And don't miss a drive and a walk through the Mount Dandenong National Forest, especially Grant's Picnic Ground at Kallista, just outside of Belgrave, about an hour's drive to the east of Melbourne ... on the way (slight detour) to Healesville Sanctuary :) Vero Beach! Are you British? Have you ever watched Neighbours? Cheesy, but you need to do the Neighbours night! I went to one ... you go to this pub (Elephant and Castle, St.Kilda's) and a few of the stars show up, then there is a pub quiz and silly games as they come around and chat whilst doing a signing. Karl Kennedy also played with his band at the end of the night. Sounds naff, but it was such a good night out. Williamstown village is nice to have a look at. The city centre is great too- very clean, lots of things to do. I recommend a walk around the parks that are just minutes from the centre. Go up the Rialto tower with a camera. St Kilda is okay, but Prahran, Richmond, Carlton and Fitzroy are cooler. Take a trip around on the train network and have dinner at the Blue Train Cafe on the Riverfront. Enjoy! Depnding on your taste. For sports the mcg for footy for culture federation square and sth bank for shopping the vic markets and the melbourne cbd |
