Undecided between driving from Melbourne, Aus. to Sydney. OR from Sydney, Aus to Brisbane? |
Travel Info What is the cost of gas per gallon Travel Tips Melbourne to Sydney is 893km (558 miles) about 11 hours Sydney to Brisbane is 1027km (642 miles) about 12.5 hours Petrol (gas) costs about $1.41 per litre but is quite volatile at the moment. Melbourne to Sydney is more scenic, but Brisbane will be warmer. Take your pick. Source(s): http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulatio... Other Travel Tips If i were you id fly!! Airfares a pretty cheap. Try www.virginblue.com.au!! Flights from Melb - Syd is 1 hour and from Syd to Brisbane is also and hour!! wow they are both really loooong trips i took a bus from gold coast to newcastle and that took just over 12 hours or something like that, that was a really loong trip at this time of the year, I'd go from Syd to Bris. I live in Melb, it is cold. Yesterday, petrol was $1.47 per litre. You will have to work that into gallons yourself. go Sydney to brissy warmer up here than down south fuel is $132 a liter today will come down in the next few days Melbourne to Sydney you'd be better off flying, catching a bus or train as it's not a must-do drive. If you are to drive one trip only, I'd do the Sydney to Brisbane. You drive along the coast and there is plenty of cheap accomodation along the way. Plus you travel along the coast the whole way and there are towns like Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour which are great stops along the way. Fuel costs as previous person said are around $AU1.40 per litre, I think thats cheaper than the USA but still expensive. My guess is it would cost about $AU150 in fuel to drive. So it might depend on how many people you have whether it's worth it. Good luck, either way I'm sure you'll love it. |
