Who had ever travel to Australia? |
Travel Info am planning to travel to Australia on Sept'06... could someome pls suggest which state "must" I visit? e.g.: Darwin? Cairns? Gold Coast? Sydney? Melbourne? Tasmania? am the fist time travelling to AUS, & the air-tickets weren't cheap... must grab this chance to visit for the "must-go" places. any ideas? Actually in my mind is Melbourne, but some friends said spend 10-days @ AUS is a wastage... in a dilemma now. I've did a research, some of those interesting places... e.g.: Philip Island, Twelve Apostles, Mt. Hotham, Botanic Garden, Exhibition Ctr, Crown Casino, Grampians, GoldFields, Victoria Market... what else have i odmitted? IF any, how should I arrange the plan & route? am thinking to drive over AUS instead of taking tour, coz it is very expensive for paying their labour. SOS... pls help! thanks for your info + suggestion!!! Travel Tips i backpacking to australia last year for 3 month,. i visit all the state accept perth and cainrs. my favor state is melbourne, as beautiful liked europe. gold coast is nice either, even is only beaches and some tourism places, but the place is good for visiting alone and chilout. someone like sydney i hated it, if talk about city i will choice melbourne. my favor outback is great ocean road in melbourne, then kings canyon in the red centre ayers rock, last is catherin gorge on the way to darwin. but i don't think you got time to go all the place, you must get to know that you like city or more on nature. i think you should stay more then a week. the place you had mentioned in melbourne is a tourism placez, beside that you must go up to the tower to have a look of melbourne night view, is really beautiful! and hang around in the pub and the city at night, you will have lot's of fun. then must go south gate a place call-little paris, lo't of people hang around over there for coffee and shopping. all place can go by feet or taking tram, is very convenient. can stay in backpackers hostel is cheap around 16 to 20 aus dollar per night, if you wanted to go to internal outback like great ocean road you just go have a look of those magazine or walk check it out in the city of the traveling agency, you can get a day tour cheapest price is start from 65 dollar, don't have to make advance booking, traveling agency is plenty in australia.beside melbourne. cainrs are just beaches and beaches, if you like it?> but is expensive to travel over there, is around 250 dollar if you catch buses from gold coast, 300+ above for the flight, and is expensive to get over there from darwin either., or maybe you first flight to cainrs from yr country. darwin is a suck place, nothing interesting beside the second state-catherin gorge and kakadu national park, i don't feel interesting of the national park i would rather choice ayers rock. adelaie is death town, damn bored! tasmania town is beautiful but small, many nature and god damn cold! maybe you should go next time with cainrs together like us backpacking the whole australia, if you have time to do that. any question you are welcome to ask me again, might can provide you more detailer. have a good trip. Others is this an offer or a question if u really wanted to go and it's an opportunity that might not come again the enjoy what you've got. Australia has different things for different people but mostly it's for nature and food lovers/enthusiasts. Melbourne has a nice mix of everything and their maps are rather easy to navigate through except for the city area. I spent 2 weeks in WA and I wasn't bored as I kept my schedule busy with sight-seeing and stuff i wanted to do. It's just a matter of good planning and if people are just going there for the nightlife , which could be a real turn-off for 10 days, or if you are going to start your day early, like they do, and enjoy the sights they have there, 10 days might not be enough. more dilemma? lol Find out where the places of your interests are and plan a route to these destinations. Sometimes you might need to get a night's stay at a small inn between your route. check out tours that they offer and look at the places they go to, this would give u a rough idea of what you can see and do in a day as well. I took a tour-route of wineries and the choc factory in WA, planned with a few friends of mine and we had our own tour with no time limit as to how long we spent at one place. one of the best things we did. Do check the opening hours as Aus does have a tendency to end the day early, except for the casinos. I was in Australia and I did a lot of traveling while I was there. The "must-go" places I would suggest are: Sydney, Uluru, Cairns (to see the Great Barrier Reef), Tasmania, Moreton Island |
