South Yarra & Manly- good places to stay whilst in MEL & SYD? |
Travel Info Coming to AUS in Sep(SYD&MEL). Booked holiday apartment in South Yarra(MEL)- is that a good area to be in, e.g. is it safe at night? Originally wanted to stay in St Kilda, but S Yarra worked out cheaper in the end ( for a good reason?). Obviously we read up on it before we booked, but I'd still appreciate any local knowledge you could share with me. Also, whilst in Sydney we're staying in Manly. Only heard good stuff about it. Anyone disagree? ....and what are the chances of finding a huntsman(or one of the other creepy crawlers you've got) in our apartments? Not too keen on spiders... :( But I'm willing to risk encounters, not going to miss out on seeing Australia because of some 8-legged monsters! Travel Tips well manly is one fo the best..very expensive. and travel from manly to CBD(SYDNEY TOWN) will be expensive... only the expensive factor other dan every thing is fine.. Others you better stay in town of sydney, in much things to do and more convenient, as someone answered you, is not cheap to get out to sydney city. and melbourne is the samed, stay in the city is better, you can always take train to anywhere you like like yarra, is adsolutely safed is stay in town and have plenty of cheap accommodation either. South Yarra is an upmarket suburb. I haven't been there for many years, but it was nice. It's only a couple of stops on the train to the city. Night time is tricky. I'd excercise common sense, never go out if you don't need too, never travel alone, etc. You have a 50/50 chance of seeing a huntsman. The biggest I've seen was the size of a tea cup. Stay away from it, and it will stay away from you, or hit it hard with a shoe. You choose..... |
