For My Aussie Friends... A Bit of Trivia? |
Travel Info 10 points for any digger capable answering this 3-part question (with story)... 'Twas back in the late 70's & early 80's that I was "Down-Under" - or "Top-Over" (depending upon your prefered perspective - spin IS relative.) There was this talk show celebrity, as I recall it, who was invited to appear on the Carson Show stateside: The dialogue came to into the discussion about Aussie wildlife and the "should-be-well-known" "CROW" differentiaion between the vocalizations of American crows and "heat-prostated" Aussie crows ensued by this celeb. 1) Who was this (in)famous Aussie celeb? 2) Is he still about raising "mischief" on the airways? And, 3) does anyone know whereI might find a clip of the interview segment online? Certainly, SOMEONE must recall the "crow call" segment... you know, where the Aussie crow during the midday, 90*-in-the-shade heat calls out "Fah-ah-ah-ahk, Fah-ah-ah-ahk, Fah-ah-ah-ahk...." Think hard... it'll come to ya, mates! I Love & Miss Aussie-land! Best Regards! Travel Tips Gidday mate, this site may help you:- http://www.dvd.net.au/review.cgi?review_... Others 1) The fellas name Graham Kennedy who was a pioneer on Australian TV he had his own tonight show for about 20 years 2) Sadly the funnyman passed away a couple of years ago he died of cancer. 2) Google Graham Kennedy you might find something there FAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... Was it Graham Kennedy? If so, he died. Glad you miss Aus, we miss you too. Gotta be Hoages. Paul Hogan aka crocodile dundee. You will catch him at the Byron Bay Hotel in Northern NSW Fah.......ah........k! such a hard question........lol......ask a simple one like.."when is beer o'clock?" :-) Was Graham Kennedy and he was always doing bird calls to try and upset the people doing live to air ads. He had asked for his show to be pre-recorded so that he could get home at a reasonable time. They refused. So he did the infamouse crow call. The show was then pre-recorded and he got home at a decent time. LOL He redid the crow call later and was banned from TV for a while. Story goes (as told at his funeral) he was trying to get some time off, and got it ... lol He passed away May 25, 2005 from pnuemonia As for it there are any clips available, you may have to google it Hi, his name 'was' Graeme Kennedy, sadly he died earlier this year, I think he was about 73yrs old...........we do have old reruns of him doing his famous Crow call, in fact in was only the other night as we are in the 50th year of TV here so they are rehashing a lot of the old stuff.............hope this helps you |
