Travel Info I been to Geelong which i thought was amazing, any more ideas? Travel Tips Go to the Yarra Valley or Red Hill (Mornington Peninsula) to visit wineries. If looking for things to do in Melbourne then there are lots of things to do if you like eating, shopping, cool bars and cafes. Explore the laneways in the city for some of the coolest and quirkiest shopping - as good as anywhere in the world. Stop at De graves espresso bar for a coffee. Grab a panini at the Journal on Flinders Lane. Then cocktails at Double Happiness (Liverpool lane, off Bourke street at the Spring street end) once your day of exploration is done. Eat Vietnamese in little Vietnam (Victoria street) and chinese in China Town. Have the best seafood in bohemian environment at Claypots in St Kilda (Barkley Street) after a stroll along the beach and Acland street. Check out greville street and chapel street (the south end of Chapel Street), party at Revolver. Don't forget to eat at Ciccolina in Acland street - can spend hours waiting for a table in the back bar which is a pleasure unto itself. Others The casino is def worth a visit, Frankston is very nice shepparton up north vic is nice. there are a lot of out of city places that r pretty cool. MCG worth a visit. Go to an aussie rules game its pretty cheap to get in and the atmosphere is great (make sure its a night game and 2 teams who really dont like each other) travelled oz for 1 year Go to the casino - I loved it! And up that tall tower thing xxx Go for a bike ride along the river (hire bikes available) Go to Koko Black (the best chocolate shop) Go to IMAX Theater There are heaps of things to do Ballarat and Sovereign Hill Great Ocean Road Melbourne Zoo St Kilda Crown Casino is great and make sure you check out the atrium Melbourne Aquarium is good for the kids as is Science Works (Spotswood) and Melbourne Museum/IMAX (Carlton). Chadstone is great for all your shopping needs. The Sofital Hotel hasa great secret on the 34th or 35th floor- the toilets feature a floor to celling glass window that looks over the city-highly recommended!There is also the Imigration Museum which is worth a look. Melbourne has a free city circle tram that will tkae to a lot of these places and tell you about the city But if you google 'things to do in melbourne' then you might find even more things to do, have fun! |
