Shopping in Melbourne? |
Travel Info I'm going on holiday to Melbourne and I was wondering about shops in the city precinct...which places are good? Also, which places are the best for Boxing Day sales? Thanks heaps (in advance) :) Travel Tips G'day, Woow... where should I start... 1. Myer & David Jones both on Bourke Street Mall 2. Melbourne Central between Lonsdale & La Trobe streets 3. DFO on Spencer Street (check www.dfo.com.au for other locations) 4. Cheap souvenir stuff at Queen Victoria Market (http://www.qvm.com.au/) 5. Bridge Road, Richmond 6. Smith Street, Collingwood 7. Brand Smart, Nunawading (http://www.brandsmart.com.au/cpa/htm/htm... 8. Suburban shopping mall like Chadstone (www.chadstone.com.au) and Highpoint (www.highpoint.com.au) Enough? Please be advised that Nos 3, 5, 6 and 7 are clearance centres, where you can still get branded stuff with cheap prices. Good luck and welcome to Melbourne. Others Shopping in Melbourne is great! For the sales, start a Myers/David Jones in the city and shop until you expire or run out of credit. Myer is at 295 Lonsdale Street. Whatever you do, make time to go to the Victoria Markets (Corner of Victoria and Elizabeth Streets) on a Sunday . There is a relatively nifty summary of what shopping areas are best for what sort of shopping here : http://www1.visitmelbourne.com.au/displa... Bridge rd in Richmond is a must to check out the fashions and bargains also Chapel street for designer wear..... Have heaps of fun.. Myers is great for the boxing day sales 1 place you need to know- Chadstone Shopping Centre Has the major department stores, and lots of cool boutiques There is a reason it's called Australia's Fashion Capital!
