I'm moving to Melbourne in four months, how much do I need to earn? |
Travel Info To live in a decent south eastern neighborhood. Including house mortgage, food, services, car credit, etc. I'm Civil Engineer Travel Tips I live in Caulfield south, which is close to be called inner city. I earn $88000 and i live a more than comfortable lifestyle. My life is in no way extravagant, i enjoy eating out at least once a week, go out maybe on average twice a week. It is a great city, you will love it. Grand prix, Grand slam tennis, Spring racing carnival, AFL grand final. We have it all. Others It's a difficult question, but I think you would be looking at $80,000 plus to be at least comfortable. You could get by on less, but if I read between the lines you want a bit more than "getting by". LOTS. . . Expensive city. Nice place though. Lord mayor is legend G'day, I agree with Tantrum. $80K will be minimal, but if you got more, then it's convenient. Of course the type of house will change your budgeting as well. I am suggesting that you check the websites below for the price of properties in the suburbs that you would like to settle in. Good luck and Welcome to Melbourne www.realestate.com.au www.domain.com.au we are proud and kind melburnian... good on you mates... |
