Can you stay overnight at Avalon Airport ? |
Travel Info We are going to melbourne next month. Our flight departs at 6 AM, and the day before we gonna go along the GOR, so what we might do is returning the car (rented) at the airport at around 10ish (as it is the only place open til that time) and then stay at the airport til morning. So the question is: Is Avalon Airport open 24 hours ? Is there anyplace next to the airport that we can stay for few hours ? We know Geelong is close but taking a taxi to Geelong and back plus an extra night of accommodation probably cost too much. Any advice would be much appreciated. Travel Tips You can avoid the taxi by using the shuttle service to Geelong's Best Western Admiralty Motor Inn, it takes around 20 mins. The cost is around $95 with breakfast. For about $10 cheaper you can go to the Abbotsford Motel http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/austr... Alternatively, just ask the car hire company for what arrangements they can offer for early morning flight drop offs. There should be no problem here. HUH You could possibly stay at the caravan park at Werribee. thats the closest to the Avalon airport. Other than that, I wouldnt recommend staying in the carpark or at the airport as it really is just a tin shed in the middle of the field No. When the airport closes after last flights security staff will ask you to leave. Im sure there is accomodation close by, have a look at YHA. |
