What does chulupa mean? |
Travel Info What does chulupa mean? Travel Tips Jan was the most closest answer to your question, but need a few corrections. As already was said, the chalupa is a boat. Making a bit of history the Mexico City was a gigant lake with floating streets and pyramids, the aztecs used the chalupa to trade or to travel over the city in that times... After the conquest the lake was dried, and the chalupas almost disapeared. Now a days you can still find them in Xochimilco wich is a place that still have a few water streets(that麓s where the Jan's source picture was taken) and yo can go there with friends to drink, sing mariachi, etc. About the dish, as you can see it emulates the form of a boat (that's the purpouse), definitely it doesn't have chedar cheese(that's not too mexican) and the pico de gallo 'sauce' either. So greetings hope my big answer is useful. Source(s): I live in Mexico, im mexican Other Travel Tips |
