Leave your itenerary open (departure date and return date) Call an airline of your choice and tell them you want to fly from Vancouver to Mexico City. They will ask you for the dates you want to fly. Do not give them this information YET. They will quote you a price and tell you when the flights are scheduled. Use this information for your reference. While you have them on the phone, ask the representative WHAT THE LOWEST PUBLISHED FARE IS. They will have to scroll down to the bottom of their reservation system computer and can tell you the absolute lowest price to travel between these two cities. If the dates of the flight are within the period that you want to travel, then place the ticket on hold. You will have 24 hours to decide if you want to purchase them or not. You should also think about calling more than one airline that services both cities. You may find that one airline can beat the others LOWEST PUBLISHED PRICE and may save additional money for the trip. It worked for me. I researched a round trip ticket from San Francisco to New York City (Laquardia) using this method. The price different was nearly $900 - saved. Use this information wisely and if your dates are flexable, this is the right strategy for you in order to save big money on airfare. |
