What is there to do in Mexico City? |
Travel Info I'm going to Mexico City at the end of this month with my girlfriend. We're into sightseeing and what-not... Any suggestions of where to go? Travel Tips It depends on how long are you staying. I recomend you to take the Turibus (like 11 usd). You can take it in the Centro, or in the Auditorio. It takes you around the touristic part of the city, and you can step down where you like, and hop in again when you want. You can take it in Auditorio. The best musseum is the Museo de Antropolog铆a. Check the aztec and mayan rooms. You also have to visit Chapultepec. You can visit Chapultepec's casstle. Is a great musseum. The view is incredible. Also, Chapultepec is a really big park, you can rent bycicles, or walk around. You can also visit Chapultepec's zoo, or lake. But, don't think that Chapultepec is outside the city, is in Reforma, near to many offices buildings, very well located. I would recomend a hotel near Chapultepec. You need to visit the Centro (downtown), but be careful, don't be showing around expensive camaras or anything. Also, the people will want to charge you more, because you are "gringos" (americans). Coyoacan is really cool. There are a lot of cafes, bars, and henna tattoes (come off in 3 weeks). Coyoacan is like a hippie place. There is really fun. If you are tired of musseums and you have time, you can go to Six Flags. Other places to visit are la Condesa, Polanco, and Xochimilco. So, everything depends on how much time you have. Remember, Mexico City is the biggest city of the world! So, don't think in visiting all the city in 3 days. Also, consider traffic. You don't wan't to spend 3 hours getting to one place to the other because of traffic. If you have few time, go to Chapultepec (only part of it), Antropolog铆a, Reforma. All that is near. That is the zone covered by the Turibus. If you have time, you should also check the Centro and Coyoacan. If you have even more time, go to Polanco, Condesa and Six Flags. But for all these locations, consider a lot of time to cross the city. Cool restaurants, night clubs, and bars are everywhere. Go to those near the place where you are. In Santa Fe, you can go to the Hind煤. In Coyoacan, to El Hijo del Cuervo. (Hind煤 is a night club (antro in Mexico), and Hijo del Cuervo is a bar). Enjoy your trip in Mexico!
