I need information on the bullfights in Mexico City? |
Travel Info I need information on the bullfights in Mexico City? Travel Tips Go to the Plaza Mexico on a Sunday afternoon, just off Eje 6 (also known as Holbein). It's next to the Cruz Azul football club stadium. Any taxi driver will take you, or assuming you're coming from central Mexico City, get to Insurgentes, then buy a ticket for the Metrobus (a bus with its own lane and specified stops with platforms for boarding) and take it SOUTH to Eje Seis. There's a department store named Suburbia on the corner. A short walk west on Eje 6. You'll pass the soccer stadium and then see the Plaza Mexico. Big bronze statues of bulls outside--you can't miss it. Also while there, look for a famous taco place on one side of the Plaza, called Villamel贸n. No tables---you eat standing up---but really good hot greasy tacos and really cold beer. First you make your order at the cash table and they give you a little ticket for your tacos and one for your beer. This is important: you line up for the tacos, and line your ticket on the counter in order after the ticket for the person in front of you. Place at least 10 pesos tip on your ticket (faster service). Also tip the beer guy. I usually order 2 or 3 campechano tacos (combo of cecina and longaniza), but hold the chicharr贸n (pork rinds) because I don't like them. Serve with lots of lime, which you can get at the beer counter. And FEAR the salsa (they put it on for you) and it is HOT HOT HOT. Source(s): My boyfriend's office is a block from the Plaza M茅xico and his mother lives accross from the Cruz Azul stadium. So I have been there a hundred times easily. Though not to the actual bullfights because I don't like them. Other Travel Tips |
