Can someone tell me where in Mexico City we can stay that's safe, central and near fun nightlife? |
Travel Info We're going to be in Mexico City visiting for about 3 nights. Travel Tips Well put by "esmefort." The "Zona Rosa" is an excellent place which is safe, central and just full of "fun nightlife." It is also full of really great restaurants, bars and shopping. This area is close to practically everything in Mexico City. You can check out different hotels on the net to find the perfect one for you and in this area there is very good security. Mexico City is an incredible place and you could stay a year and not see all of it. It is by far the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas and as such its a treasure trove of history that you won't find in any other "American" cities. You can visit the ancient "Mexhica" pyramid city at "Teotihuacan," see the remnants of the huge Aztec capital "Tenochtitlan", the flower city of canals at "Xochimilco," the vast Spanish colonial areas and the incredible blend of Mexican regional cultures that is the modern city. If you like Mexican food, this is definitely the place for it! Nowhere on Earth will you find such a variety of authentic regional Mexican cooking than right here. People have immigrated to the "big city" by the millions and they all brought their food with them. Fabulous moles from Oaxaca, spicy Pibils from Yucatan and Campeche, incredible seafood from Vera Cruz, Sinhaloa and Guerrero, "birria" from Jalisco, the delicious "barbacoa" of Mexico State and Hidelgo, the famous "carnitas" and "pastor," great "arracherra" steaks and meat dishes from the North, and about 1000 different types of mexican sauces........... (.....I gotta go, I'm hungry.......) |
