What are the steps a Mexican Citizen must take to get a passport and visa to travel to the US?

Passport: Cost 70U$D for a 5 years validity. It is given 2 hrs. after requested.
Visa: (Oh my God!) Cost 120U$D (plus accomodation, toll roads, etc.) for a 10 yrs. validity. First we have to call the embassy paying U$D2/minute to make an appointment (usually given 3 or 4 months after the call); then pay U$D100 at the bank, then travel to Mexico City (if we live outside) to the interview, which takes aprox. 4 hrs. (plus driving). If it is aproved, we have to wait 2 more months to receive the visa at home, paying another U$D10 for the courier service. If it is denied we first of all say (fu*k), then have to do all over again! |
