Is Mexico City safe to travel for an american? There is so much History I would Love To See? |
Travel Info Is it safe though? I have heard of Tourists being kidnapped? Is this true, if so how much of a concern is it? Thanks for the info! Travel Tips It's gonna be safe for sure while you go only to nice areas. As in New York there are some places you better stay away (like Harlem or the Bronx) it's the same in Mexico City. These are some places where you can walk with no problem: Condesa (nice food and trendy shopping) Roma (the french quarter) Polanco (kind of NY's 5th avenue) Reforma (touristic area around Reforma Avenue Xochimilco (the Mexican Venice) Zona Rosa (gay zone) Centro Hist贸rico (downtown, in the past it was a dangerous spot now it's watched through 245 cameras meking this area one of the most secure in the city. It's a lovely city where you can find things from outrageous luxury to the most ancient Mexican traditions. Plus: Metro (subway) is quite cheap, secure and even cleaner than NY sub. In the downtown it's quite worthy to take the Turibus (double decker bus), it's only $15.00 usd per day. Source(s): http://mexicocity.gob.mx/index_en.html... Other Travel Tips |
