Miami or Tampa?

Well i might be buying a place in Florida or i might just go for a visit, so i am wondering which is the better Place to buy a condo at? Miami or Tampa? and why?

Miami is more expensive than Tampa. A lot more expensive. You'll pay more for your condo and you'll pay more to vacation there in parking, food, and entertainment.

If money isn't an issue, then the question becomes what are you looking for? Tampa, itself, doesn't really have a beach. The beach communities are at least 30 minutes away in Pinellas County - St. Petersburg Beach, Clearwater Beach, Madeira Beach, etc. However, Tampa has proximity to some of the best beaches in the State (Ft. De Soto, Clearwater Beach) and some great off-shore parks. I'd give Tampa a strong edge over Miami in natural/outdoor attractions.

Tampa doesn't have nearly the same cultural opportunities as Miami as far as art galleries, restaurants, or nightlife. Tampa has a lot of family oriented activities - Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, MOSI, and Orlando is only 90 minutes away. Source(s): Lived here for 8 years
