Travel Info How long is the Drive from Miami to Key West? Travel Tips About 4 to 5 hours depending on if your going to make some stops. Others Depends on where you are in Miami and what time you leave...dreaded traffic, you know. It will take 4-6 hours. Just saw your added post, from Miami International Airport on a Thursday night if it's after 7:00 (rush hour is horrible 'till around 7:00) it should take you around 5 hours. The best way to go is the Turnpike extension (plan your route before you leave the airport) which will take you into Florida City and there's only one road (U.S. 1 also called South Dixie Highway) so you won't get lost! Be careful on your drive through the Keys at night and you'll be fine. Weather is beautiful right now, and when you're in the Keys try a sunset sailboat cruise, it's beautiful. Have fun and welcome to Sunny Florida. Depends on WHERE in Miami. Anywhere from 3.5 to 5 hours depending on where & time of day & day of week (Fri-Sun add an hour). 4 hours. About 4 hours. If you can speed a little of course you can get their faster but people are always getting pulled over on the highway down there. You also have to remember since there is only one road in and out of the keys there is a possibility for delay. And of there is an accident or fire authorities will complately shut down the road. But if there isn't any problems on the road you should be able to make it in about four hours without stops. I live in South Florida and have been to the Keys, including Key West, many times. |
