Do people swim in the ocean in February in south floida? |
Travel Info I am traveling there in february. It is too wishful to think I'll be swimming in the ocean, or do people use the beaches in February? Anything south of W. Palm Beach. Travel Tips The beaches in South Florida are used every day (except for during a hurricane!). The water temperature is almost always around 80 degrees. People from northern states are called "Snow Birds" and visit here during the winter months. It really is nice here during the winter. The weather is great- a few days will be cold, otherwise expect 70 to 80 degrees in the winter. Just be careful when you visit the beach, and read the signs near the lifeguard stations. If you see purpleish plastic looking things lying around on the sand- steer clear! These are called man-o-war and they are poisonous. Even if they look dead and shriveled up, they can still hurt you. Many beaches also have picnic areas- it makes for a really fun day if you bring some food and stake out a table. Others Yes, Yes and Yes, bring your bathing suit, February is Florida's warm spring and some days are like summer (to northerners anyway). You will love South Florida, its a beautiful area for a vacation. Have a great time at the beach. Of course. The water temp is still in the low 70's even in February. But it all depends on the weather. If you get a cold snap you wont see anyone except maybe the bravest souls in the water. But if you get a 80 degree stretch it will look the same as a summer afternoon. Yes , swimming in Florida is a year round thing BUT in spring, watch out for the sharks. Yes! It's a beautiful part of the state, and you will be able to swim. Have a great trip! people can go swimming anytime in florida... its always warm- i should know because i live in south florida Of course, yeah! Florida are always cool in the wintertime but very hot during the summertime. What are you waiting for?!?! Go get your bathing suit and hop right in!!! enjoy yourself!! |
