Does anyone have experience with a clean, safe and reasonable priced (<$200) hotel in Miami? |
Travel Info My wife and I are going on a cruise out of Miami and want to arrive one day early to make sure we don't miss the boat. Has anyone been on such a trip that they might have a hotel to recommend? Travel Tips Try Best Western, on the Bay Inn& Marina, 800-624-3961. Courtyard Marriott, South Beach, 800-321-2211. Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel, 305-673-3337. Howard Johnsons Plaza Hotel, Miami airport, 800-860-3966. Very Hi-end, Fountaibleu, Eden Roc, also price pending on the season. Think superbowl, forget it. Others i just left miami, came back mon. there are plenty of great hotels in miami, for the most part just go to hotwire or orbitz to get a list. there is such a demand for good quality, most have stepped up their game. i stayed at the Mandarin, beautiful, tranquil, relaxing, no where near beach area, that's where hotel are somewhat sleazier because peole come to stay for longer periods. good luck. Try the soutbeachgroup.com hotels - as low as $100 a night sometimes. They are like very nice. I've stayed at the Chesterfield, Whitelaw and one other one - can't remember which, but they are all nice. Chesterfield can be a little loud at nice, so if you want something quiet try the Whitelaw. I used to work with most hotels in South Beach. To me, the absolute favorite still is The Savoy, on Ocean Drive and 4th. It is one of only 2 hotels that have direct beach access at the heart of South Beach (the other is the Marriot). You can pay about $150 for a beautiful studio overlooking the pool, and 1 bedrooms run for a bit more. My family and I are also going on a cruise out of Miami, this is not the first time we have gone and we also do the extra night pre stay, we stay at the Intercontinental it is right on the bay by the port where the cruise ships come in, as well as near the marketplace and the hard rock cafe, the kids also enjoyed the motel as well as the little extras around it. Think we are paying 79.00 per person for the night. We felt it was clean, comfortable and reasonable. I am booking a cruise for November and found that the Days Inn @ The Civic Center has $100/night rates, and they include breakfast, free transportation from/to the airport and the Port of Miami. We are probably going to stay there before and after our cruise. www.DaysInn.com |
