I'm visiting Key West in April, whats the high temp?? |
Travel Info Also, I know most beaches aren't "real" beaches, but is there one in Key West that is not all seaweed and what not? I am dying for nice soft sands and blue waters....am I out of luck?? Any tips on things to do, visit, or see??? Is there a good spa retreat that isnt crazy $$$$ ? Thank so much!! Travel Tips The temp should be in the mid-80s (low-mid 70s at night). Key West is not the place for beaches unless you can find a small boat to take you out a couple of hundred yards south to a sand bank where the water is only a couple of feet deep! Lots of small boats anchor here and you can set your beach chair in the ocean and relax in the clear, warm water (no seaweed usually out there). I go to enjoy the historical parts (like Hemingway's home), Whitehead street (southernmost street in the US), the famous Cuban marker ("90 miles south of this point"), and the restaurants and bars (Sloppy Joe's, Hog's Breath Saloon). There's also a large butterfly place a couple of blocks north of the Cuban marker, at the end of Duval. Shopping used to be fun when all the local merchants had places along Duval Street. Unfortunately most of them are gone and replaced with the commercialized stores (Gap, etc.). Others Temperatures in April are usually between 72 and 82 .. see weather.com report below. We really liked the snorkeling excursion that took us out about an hour from Key West, awesome sailing, relaxation and swimming .. our story below http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimato... http://www.seetheglobe.com/modules/wfrev...
