Anyone familiar with Vero Beach, Provence Bay?

I'm looking to buy a home in Provence Bay,Vero Beach. I've never visited Vero Beach and I'm from Miami. Does anyone know how the actual beach is, the lifestyle, downtown vero, restaurants and residents, crime? Fast paced? Relaxed? Any info would be helpful.
