Is it safe in miami?

I am travelling to miami for a week or so, and I was wondering, how safe is it overthere, and what are the places I should avoid while being there?

I'm not dead am I? LOL. The only place that's kind of scary is Plametto and some areas of downtown in Miami Beach. Go to South Beach. It's the best place to hang out!

Anyplace populated. Miami actually has "red zone" manps. Meaning you can get a map telling you all the red zones, or zones to avoid because there isnt even police protection in those areas. Miamis pretty much a pooper.
Don't go to Liberty City, and some areas of downtown and Coconut Grove are bad. It's not like people are waiting to kick your butt, and take your money. It's really the luck of the draw. Traffic is definitely not safe.
