Decided to go to Key Largo, Florida for vacation and one night in Miami? |
Travel Info Anyone from there that can give me info on what to do and where to eat, places or areas to stay away from? We are flying into Miami and thought about staying one night there. Any info on Miami would help also. We would love to have some wonderful Cuban food and look at the art deco buildings. Travel Tips We stayed in Key Largo for our vacation this past November. I was extremely happy with our hotel, the Key Largo Grande Resort, and it was very reasonably priced. The grounds were beautiful, and the atmosphere overall was very exotic. When you pull up to check in you walk under a large elongated patio area, built among the gorgeous mangroves, and there is one that is huge and so pretty. The grounds are huge, so huge that we never even saw all of it! They have a boardwalk walking trail through the hardwood hammock ON the hotel property, all labeled so you know what you are looking at. It has a little bay beach and the pools are nice with waterfalls and a little "cave" area. It also has a dock and all the water sports right there. I was really impressed. here is their web site: www.keylargogrande.com Key Largo is great for snorkeling or scuba diving. You can take a boat excursion or you can rent a boat and explore on your own, the rental boats all come with GPS's pre set to all the best reefs! I also HIGHLY recommend eating at a restaurant called "Morada Bay" which is in Islamorada (maybe 10-15 minutes from key Largo). I advise going there to watch the sunset while you dine ON the beach! The food is great too. They have live music there too. There is also a great Cuban restaurant right in Key Largo! Its sooo good. When you arrive in Key Largo, going south on rt. 1, you will see it on the right, it has a big sign saying "CUBAN FOOD" and it looks like a cute little colorful cuban house. If you need more info. feel free to e mail me and I will help you. Source(s): Personal experience on my vacation in Key Largo Other Travel Tips Try Las Palmas on hwy A1A north of Miami to eat while in Miami. Food, Atmosphere was great. If you want to try a great beer from the caribbean, order a Kalic say on south beach . every things there...... have fun and drink a lot... 15 years The Art Deco historic district is in South Beach. You'll find Cuban Restaurants there too, including the Estefan family's "Lario's" on Ocean Drive. "Wonderful Cuban food" is an oxymoron. |
