Where are the best neighborhoods for 20-somethings to live in Miami?

Travel Info
I am moving to Miami for work in 6 months- I would prefer something relatively close to the beach, and not outrageously expensive. Speaking of that, how much can I expect to pay for a 2 bedroom apartment in a recommended neighborhood?

Travel Tips
Since you are in your twenties... I recommend that you have to live in place that is adequate for your age. If you like the beach and the party life the best place to live would be in South Beach. The prices are so expensive for a studio and the communte is a hassle from the island. An area that I would SUPER recommend in the Coconut Grove area. Check it out online. Close to everything.... downtown, the beach, key biscayne, you name it.

Coconut Grove... has many nightlife and bars, the movies and the bay right in the side. Living here gives you easy access to all directions and you don;t have to go far to find something to do.
Hope everything works out.

Depends on WHERE you will be working. Miami is huge & commuting times are terrible. SoBe is the best choice for living, but commuting is a hassle. There are reasonably priced SMALL apartments away from the beach in older buildings at reasonable rents. 2 br's can run from 2k to 20k or more a month, depending on location, newness, height, closeness to water & beach, parking, amenities, etc.
Miami is huge, so...it depends where in miami are you going to be working, prices will range between $1,100 to $1,500 good luck!
Consider Downtown Miami or Miami beach...try apartments.com or the Miami herald....
I would check the area from Coconut Grove to the south up to the 79th Street, east of I-95 (or even better, east of Biscayne Boulevard / US 1, if you can afford it) and all points east, including the Beaches. Those include some of the hottest properties in Miami.
I know a lot of twenty-somethings that are renting in the Coral Gables area (close to Miracle Mile/Coral Way and Douglas Rd/37th Ave). There are many new buildings in the area with security, covered parking, pool and even valet, and a 2 bedroom will run somewhere around $1,700. There are tons of good restaurants, bars, theatre, galleries and shopping within walking distance. And I find the Gables to be a central location in Miami, from where you can head in any direction with relative ease, and not far from the airport, Coconut Grove, downtown, etc.
