Has the red algae problem improved at Fort Myers Beach yet? |
Travel Info We are going to Fort Myers Beach the week at Easter, and we have heard all sorts of horror stories about the red algae on the beaches. We're considering cancelling (but losing our deposit). Any advice? Travel Tips It has gotten better, and they are removing the washed-up algae much more aggressively (now that it's "season.") However it's not completely gone. Just much better than it was a month or two ago. Others Let me say this, depends where your located. When I was there, hotel area was fine. When you got to where the Publix is, can not breath. So, was not fun, rooms should be ok, good luck. |
