I'am going to move to florida in a few month? |
Travel Info I will be going in about 4 months and I was wondering if there are anythings that I should know about and things to look out for or be aware of? I be in the Fort Lauderdale area. Travel Tips Well, like any other state South Florida has its areas, good and bad, Miami, fort lauderdale etc has nice areas and also bad ones so it depends where are you moving to, in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Mannors, Lauderdale by the sea etc are nice areas...the west side is not as nice, there's nothing really to be aware of but for hurricane season therefore taxes are high too, traffic in fort laud.is much better than it is in Miami... We are getting at least one every year these days but most new houses would do ok with shutters installed. If you have any kids, education is pretty bad in Florida however if your kid is a good student and is not the type that would join gangs and things like that, then you'll be ok too. Underpaid teachers, kids cutting other kids' throats in school bathrooms, teens smoking, having sex, getting into gangs, stealing, etc. Just like any other major city in the U.S. there is theft so you will have to maintain caution and your guard up. However, South Florida is a great place to live in and I wouldn't live anywhere else in the U.S. and I bet you'll love it too. Apart from the hurricanes we have great over all weather throught out the year and great beaches. I've lived in Miami for 7 years. |
