Hollywood Beach Florida? |
Travel Info Im traveling to Hollywood Beach Florida next week. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to eat or nightlife? Travel Tips Hollywood is a great location as it is in the middle of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. I am not sure how old you are and what kind of nightlife you are interested in but here are some suggestions: Fort Lauderdale: If you want to find great food and nightlife, I would definitely hit Las Olas Blvd. This is a strip that contains a ton of shops, bars and restaurants. There are a lot with wonderful food and you will find a range of prices from reasonable to outrageous. There is a large variety of food to be found here. Riverfront is another area that has a number of bars and restaurants. It is a walkway area that winds around the canal and provides some excellent views of yachts, and bridges opening (interesting to see if one never has seen this) A1A Beachfront is the other attraction in this area. If you go to the beach, directly across the street you will find a bunch of bars, shops, restaurants and all kinds of entertainment. This is a pretty big area, and there is even a trolley that will take you all over the downtown/beach area for one dollar. This is a good deal as there is so much to see that the feet might wear out :) In Fort Lauderdale there are also theater venues, and art museum, dinner cruises (this is fun on the Jungle Queen at Bahia Mar) and great people watching. Miami: In Miami, you will find a hip, young crowd. South beach is of course one of the biggest attractions. In the South beach area, there is Lincoln Road, which is closed off to through traffic in one direction and there are a ton of shops, excellent food and bars here. I love this area as I like to look through the eclectic shops. There are also a number of street performers in this area that are fun to watch as well. I would say this is something that most people would like to see. Espanola Way is just a bit south of Lincoln and contains some great restaurants and a few shops. If you like Italian food there is an ultra cute cafe that serves great food and the waiters will sing and perform for you (they do for me anyway :)) I would recommend this as a romantic place to eat dinner if you are looking for that kind of setting. If you are looking for nightclubs, I believe the majority of them are off of Washington. I never really got too into the club scene but from what I understand it is fairly expensive to get into a lot of them but they are loaded with all kinds of interesting folks. I am sure it is worth seeing! Ocean Drive runs by the water and it is where you will find the beach as well as a string of the old hotels. This is a great area, but I would warn you the food and drinks here can get quite outrageous in price. I have had a 35 dollar hamburger here and seen drinks for two as high as 40 bucks. If you are looking for food, try Lincoln or Espanola Way as they are much more reasonable in price unless you want the atmosphere of the beach across the street. I would however recommend going here to catch some rays, people watch and check out some of the hotels. When you see art portraying South Beach, this is usually the strip in the artwork. Bayfront is a nice area that is just off of US1. There are a ton of shops, restaurants and views of the cruise ships here. They usually have entertainment here as well during day and night. Hollywood is a bit quieter, but a great area. I spend a good part of the year in Hollywood and I love it as it is cost effective and close to both major cities. I would recommend the beach here if you are looking for a less crowded beach. There is also the Broadwalk which is a quaint city by the sea. There is food, shops and lots to look at for amazingly low prices. I think you'll have a ton of fun here and the weather lately has been absolutely beautiful! Others just eat in your own place girl go to hard rock hotel its has everything u will ever need good luck and have fun Check out seminolehardrock.com and look at what the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino has. It's in Hollywood, but not on the beach. If you want to hang out at the beach, there is a broadwalk (not a Boardwalk). It's a road on the beach with plenty of casual places to eat, shop, drink and enjoy the great people watching Hollywood Beach offers. Lifelong area resident Right downtown, Hollywood Blvd. just west of Young's Circle is the new hot area. You are also close to Ft. Lauderdale, & downtown Las Olas Blvd. & the Seminole hard Rock casino & also the new Gulfstream racetrack & casino. You're in a pretty good area. There's plenty to do even without going down to Miami. Seminole Hard Rock is the place to be in Hollywood. |
