Travel Info Many people that now live in Miami are from somewhere else?? Do you miss home or do you love Miami?? I always have visited and loved Miami as a tourist. My cousin and some friends(from san diego, chicago and nyc) live in SOBE and North Miami Beach now and love it. Everytime I visit, It seems like an expensive paradise. I can afford it, but noticed some people move there and then move back. Why is that?? For the people not from Miami that moved there, how do you like it?? Anything you would warn me about living in Sobe?? Im considering moving to Miami and what to know every little pro and con before I make the jump?? I live in Atlanta, and meet a lot of people here in Atlanta that have moved here from Miami and I have to wonder why?? Besides being cheaper, why would you want to move to Atlanta from Miami?? I want to move from Atlanta to Miami! Some people absolutely love it but some people dont, and I want to know why?? Travel Tips I actually spend my winters here in Miami but I live the rest of the year in PA.. I hate PA though because it is boring, the people are uptight and the weather sucks. Fortunately this coming year I am planning on buying a property in the South Florida area so that I can live here full time I just like how it is so culturally rich, friendly and warm down here. I met so many really nice people since being here that I continue to see year after year. There is always something to do, something to see or a beach to lounge on. I absolutely love it here Although nowhere is perfect, this area is pretty damn close :) Others i live in chicago and i just love to spend some time in WARMI well...i mean miami i think florida is a great state cuz it has so many nice cities palm beach orlando tallahasse tampa i love 'em all I actually live in Fort Lauderdale which is a 20 minute drive to Miami. I absolutely LOVE living in South Florida. I was born and raised here. I have visited Atlanta, and although I had wonderful times in Atlanta (great people, great food, lovely sites) I would not wish to live anywhere else than right here. One of the main reasons people leave So. Fla. is because of the cost of living. It can be very expensive. Another reason is hurricane season. Many folks just can't deal with the anxiety of an approaching storm or cannot cope with the after effects. (yes there are after effects even when we are not directly hit). Hope that helps. I am originally from NY and moved down to Miami 5 years ago. About 2 years ago, I was looking to move to Augusta, Georgia myself. Why? Because the homes are getting really expensive here, and I thought of selling my home and getting a house twice as big for my family. Also, the people here are not friendly at all. I always liked Georgia for their southern hospitality. You're always made to feel welcomed. Another thing is the traffic here is out of control, and the drivers are horrible. I would get annoyed at all the people working in stores that can't speak a word of English. I have to say I'm glad I haven't moved. It is kinda growing on me. I really enjoy the winters. There are times I miss the snow, especially around the holidays...x-mas lights on palm trees is just not natural. But I'm used to it now. I've always been here and i love it. =] |
