Looking To Relocate to Ft. Meyers Area?

Anyone know of the best way to go about this? Are there places down there where I can stay for a short time while looking for housing and employment? I want to have a job and housing before I pack up and move. Any recommended reading for relocation to this area?

HUH, visit area, frequently. Live 2 1/2 hrs, north. Really enjoy, beach, shopping, people. Centrally located, airport, downtown is really a great experience, eateries, history The Edison, Ford homes, McGregor Blvd. Beautiful homes, go on to the Chamber of Commerce. They are called motels & there are a sh**tload of them at all price levels along US 41. Bear in mind Ft. Myers is pretty much tourist & retiree country, tho' it does have a state University. So it is almost all low paying service & sales jobs.
Why do you want to live in fort myers? It's so boring there.
