Cost of Taxi ride in Miami?

Me and my girls leave for Miami next Friday I am just needing to know the average price of a taxi ride in Miami & do they charge by person or can we ride and pay like a group price?

save some money and rent a car. Thrifty and Enterprise offer cars for 25-30 a day which is pretty good. Cabs are EXTREMELY expensive and usually dont take more than 3, you can get an extra person up front if the cab driver is really nice or really sleepy lol

You can ride as a group and you do not pay per person. However, the average price depends on where you are going. The Airport (MIA) to the Beach (SoBe) ,for example, on a no-traffic day is about $25 - $30 bucks.
tavis arent expensive and you can pay as group but only if you are 3 no more than that cause the taxi driver is not going to allowed that for ensurance policies
maybe you are lucky
my recomendation is...stay on the beach side and save money on cabs or rent a car

The following is reprinted from the Miami-Dade web site (meter rates are uniform thruought the county):
>> Except where flat rates are operational, fares are determined by the taximeters which are inspected and sealed at the Consumer Services Department's Vehicle Inspection Station. The metered rate is calculated at:
$2.50 for first 1/6 of a mile
$0.40 for each additional 1/6 mile
$0.40 per minute ($24 per hour) wait charge
Road tolls are in addition to the metered fare. The passenger pays the lower Sunpass rate.
For trips originating at Miami International Airport or the Port of Miami a $2 surcharge will be added to the meter fare. <<

Fares are per cab. There is a flat rate from MIA to SoBe of about $35.00.
It' not per person, fit as much as 4 in a cab for the same price
