Is there a car rental agency in the Ft Lauderdale area that doesn't charge an extra fee for a driver under 25? |
Travel Info I'm going to Fort Lauderdale at the end of May, and I need a rental car for a week. I'm 23, and every place that I've looked at thus far charges an extra daily fee for drivers under the age of 25. Travel Tips Unfortunately, every rental car service has a standard policy to charge an extra fee for a driver under 25. There is no way around it. If you are traveling with someone who is over 25 then perhaps they can rent the car for the both of you. However, if you are the only person traveling and you really need a car then I think you might have to pay the extra charge. I know it really sucks but that is what you are going to find in any rental car service. Others If you can find a way to show that your car is in the shop you won't be charged the extra fee. But, you didn't hear that from me. It could be worse. Until a couple of years ago most wouldn't rent to under 25's at all. I went last year and found out that only Alamo will let you take the car if you are under 25 plus they are reasonable but yes they all charge mine was like 600.00 or so for 9 days I am affraid not ,is a way the insurance companies cover their back with young people, I have rented with a few companies, they all have almost the same policies. |
