What should I do in Miami South Beach to celebrate my 41st Birthday with my husband and kids? |
Travel Info I will be there five days four nights one day is my birthday my vhildren are 2 and 16. We are staying in a five star hotel. I love carribean and Mexican food. Travel Tips Miami Beach is a great place for both kids and adults. Besides going to the beach (the obvious choice to make the whole family happy) definitely check out Lincoln Road on South Beach (I'm sure the hotel will point you in the right direction). It has great outdoor cafes, boutiques, bars, and people watching. Plus, if you love Mexican food, check out El Rancho Grande, it's a fantastic restaurant right off Lincoln Road on Pennsylvania Ave (there are directories on Lincoln that will point you there). Great food and even better margaritas. If you want to leave Miami Beach, take a 15 drive to Viscaya Gardens, its a historic mansion near Key Biscayne. Right near Viscaya, on Key Biscayne, is the Miami Seaquarium- great for the kids. Plus, check out the neighboring cities of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. Coconut Grove is a cute artsy village. Coral Gables is surrounded by huge trees and Spanish style architecture. Also, there are plenty of good Cuban restaurants to eat at. While in Coral Gables, be sure to check out the Biltmore Hotel. It's beautiful, plus it hosts the best brunch and the most amazing (and I think one of the nation's largest) pool. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. On Miami Beach, see if you can catch a show at the Jackie Gleason Theater or, if you're up for some real excitement, hit the bars or clubs on the weekend. Whatever you do in Miami you're sure to have a great time. Enjoy and happy birthday! |
