Would greyhound be best to go to florida with a newborn and a cat? |
Travel Info Would greyhound be best to go to florida with a newborn and a cat? Travel Tips No, it would be dangerous for you. Besides, you can now take small pets inside the cabin of an airplane with you as long as they are in a crate and you keep them under your seat. Costs approx $65-$80. I think that would be much easier on the three of you. Others No- Greyhound is frustrating enough when you're going alone, let alone with a child and an animal. They don't let animals on the buses anyway. Also, since Greyhounds stop in seemingly every town on the way to your destination, it will take almost twice as long as it normally would to get there. If you were going alone I'd say go for it- but trust me you'll be completely disheveled and exhausted with a child as well. Not unless you absolutely must go and have no other way, I have no clue where your leaving from but when I was a young sailor in the Navy, I'd take the Greyhound to visit friends and family from time to time, well eventually I decided that even if I did'nt feel like driving, it was better to take a train, plain or walk than to take the Greyhound. It's aweful, there usually is'nt alot of room on the busses, and traveling to Florida with a baby and a cat would be murder for you and the cat. I'm not even sure where they would put the cat, under the bus? Is that even safe? As for the baby, he/she would get cranky and it's not alot of space on those things...Just imagine you and several dozen people of the sort you may or may not want to spend a day or two in close quarters with on a loud bumpy bus. I say if nothing else, take a train. Its faster, alot cleaner and not too expensive these days. no freaking way, been there, done that. I went from Ct. to Fl., it took three days on the bus (where as it would of only been 1 day in the car ) Then you got to consider all the people that your riding with that haven't showered in days and chances are they probably didn't have very good hygiene to begin with. The last time I took the bus there was a God awful stench on just about every bus that I got on (3) and even washing up in the restrooms didn't help, the smell soaked into my skin and clothing. My bulldog wouldn't even come next to me when I got home. It took a very long soaking to get the smell out of my pours. Also, the food sucks, and is quite expensive for what your offed so if your traveling on a tight budget your basically A. O. A cant forget the obnoxious drunks on the buss and the freaks at the stops, and I couldn't help but notice that the buss doesn't stop in the more pleasant parts of town, its always in the drug / slum area's of every state you enter. No, I wont be leaving the driving to them EVER again. Bad stuff dude NO way~ I did it from Colorado to west palm beach , Fl..I was about to go insane and I had my then 2 year old! Never again! Dont put you or your baby in this unhygenic situation...Alot germs an disease on those buses not good for the baby...Try the train amtrak comes here but I dont know where your comin from at least with them you can get a room......Good Luck~ do not even think about it , it is way too long - 24 hour trips - it took almost that time to travel from Fort Lauderdale to Gainsville , GA, and that is the closest state to FL |
