Other Travel Tips I have recently made reservations for a hotel on the beach in Ft Lauderdale and it was cheap and really nice. I found a good deal online and paid a small deposit upfront for a nice condo with 3BR's on the beach. The rates were really good, for the area. If I were you, I would stay in Hollywood.. it is only about five miles south of Ft. Lauderdale. All along the road "A1A" you will find motels at a very good rate. Some will have an ocean view and some won't but they will be within a short block of it. Hollywood beach is the only true open public beach in south Fla. If you have a rental car you can get around easily to all the places you want to see and the rental rates are cheap. Ft. Lauderdale is great, but for my money, Hollywood is better. At Hollywood beach you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner about one hundred feet from the waters edge. At Ft. Lauderdale you will be across the street from it. Check it out.. Just look up Hollywood fla. on google.. I stay there when I go and it is always a kick.
