If you are going down I-95 pretty much anywhere in North Carolina will do the trick. Actually since you are going to South FL. you might want to push it a little the first day and head into South Carolina. I would look for hotel listings in Fayetteville NC, Luberton SC or Florence SC. Keep in mind that you can make a reservation at most hotels, hold with a credit card for late arrival and still cancel it prior to 6PM day of arrival with no penalty. I would do this. That way you have a guaranteed stopping point. Others how BOUT YOU FLY Best place to stop in in South Carolina. I've done South Jersey to Orlando by car, and that's where I stayed. Have fun! When I do a road trip from Miami to Pennsylvania, I always stop in Wilmington NC. It's has a historic downtown area that has lots of cute bed and breakfastes and you can walk to dozens of great resturants downtown. I love it. It takes me 11 hours from miami to wilmington so I think that should be about 1/2 way for you. Change you plans...stopping twice is your best bet. You need to stop ONE night? I would suggest two stops. The first in the D.C. area, the second in the Savannah, GA area. |
