Is it dangerous to swim in the ocean when it is dark out? Why? |
Travel Info I will be on vacation for the next week in Flordia and I want to be in the water for the longest possible amount of time. Travel Tips 1. Sharks move closer in to shore at nite to feed. 2. You can't see them as well as you can in daylight 3. People can't see you from the shore if you get in trouble & need help. Others Sharks man!!! It's dangerous because it's dark and you can't see like you can in the daytime, obviously. You can swim in pools though, when I went to FL the pools stayed open until midnight. Sharks, particularly Tiger sharks, become more active after dark. Also, most lifeguards and security people around beaches go off-duty as night approaches, so if something happens to you, you're going to have a heck of a time finding help. There are also human-type predators to consider: you're a lot more likely to come to grief from a human perpetrator when it's dark and there aren't people around than during the daytime. (Personally, I'd be a lot more worried about the human predator types than the sharks.) In areas with a lot of tourist traffic, the baddies tend to look for tourists who are off their guard as targets. yes because the currents are stronger at night time and the ocean seems to rise also sharks come to feed at night in the dark and Florida has lots of sharks. In a event that you should get caught up in a current do not panic as that will pull you out further you must swim diagonally At some beaches they wont let u swim at night... well at least where i am in north florida. u cant be out walking around or swimming at a certain time t night during the week. and since we're closer to the equator the sun doesnt set here this month until like 8:20-8:25PM right now.. so u dont need to worry bout swimming in the dark u got all day. The sun doesn't set until 8:30 pm. I wouldn't worry about it. |
