Getting florida residency for miami PD?

i want ot go to college in florida for criminal justice and then work for the miami pd. they say i need to be a resident and have a florida drivers license. but i live in maine. can i get residency and i drivers license for florida while im at college in florida? and if so, how??

Sure. If you are living in Fla. just bring your Maine license to an auto tag agency & apply for a Fla. license with your Fla. address; then register to vote, change your mailing address and voila, you are a Florida resident!
