Do u think living in Miami has gotten disgustingly expensive?

Travel Info
Do u think the prices of homes are ever going to go down?? who thinks living here has gotten awful??

Travel Tips
Don't even get me started.

I'm from Pittsburgh, PA originally. After 30 years of that, I moved to Washington DC area - Silver Spring, MD specifically. 3 long years ago, I moved to Miami. Biiiiig mistake.

The people are so f***ing rude here I can't even stand it, whether they're driving or not. They drive like they're the only people on the road. The whole attitude of this place stinks. Speaking of stink, I didn't know it was possible for a whole entire city to smell like hot piss all year 'round. Until I moved here, that is.

It's way more expensive to live here than most cities in the U.S., barring New York and San Fran, and totally not worth it. My rent here in the Little Haiti/Design District area exceeds my mortgage for a condo next to Rock Creek park and Chevy Chase in MD/DC. And my quality of lving here is crap. Even if I drive 35 minutes North to Aventura mall, I still can't order my freaking lunch in English. I'm OVER it.

I don't want to pay half mil for a house in a city that I hate, and will always hate (let's face it, people, Miami's never going to change), only to have to pay taxes and insurance out the ying-yang on top of that.

The solution: Draw a line below Fort Lauderdale. Cut along line. Push severed part of country towards Cuba. They can keep it.

I'm married to a Peruvian, so it's not like I'm a hater. Just have a little freaking respect for the host country that gave you asylum, leave your 3rd world way of life back in the country you came from...you left there to have a better life here...that *might* mean you have to ADAPT to our way of life here. Price you pay for freedom.

Oh, and btw...I am working on leaving...looking to go to Jacksonville as soon as hubby can find work there. Amen! Source(s): I live here and hate it.
Other Travel Tips
I can't stand it here anymore. Have you received your new insurance quote? Mine has more than doubled, $1,000 a month for insurance alone. Prices have come down since the past 2 years when the prices exploded, but they're still ridiculous. We bought our home 15 years ago, and if I had to pay what it's worth now, I wouldn't. It's a very nice house, but the same house elsewhere would be a mansion...it's crazy!

My sister's in-laws sold their old, tiny house in a not so nice neighborhood near downtown Miami last year for $450,000 and bought a 4,500 sq. ft. house in Charlotte, N.C. for $425,000. Crazy, huh?

We won't even go into the fact the Miami has the lovely award for #1 rudest drivers in the nation.
Born and raised in Miami...Hello North Carolina in a couple of years, lol.
YES! Thats the main reason I moved out of South Florida last year.
