How are the teacher salaries in Dade County ? |
Travel Info Going to FIU, education major...don't know if I will stay here...Love the weather, culture, FISHING, and the various shades of Tropical ladies but....The housing costs are ridiculous and these are some of the meanest people on earth,,And I say that having spent a lot of time in NYC... Travel Tips well teachers are finally starting out at 40,000 a year but that was after a horrible battle.. i really think the teachers here are underpaid . Also the housing cost are terrible, a single teacher will not be able to afford living on their own here. and yes people here are super rude.. I'm planning on moving up north somewhere as soon as i finish my degree in education. Miami is not just about the fishing and the beaches, i've lived here my whole life and i barly get to go to the beach because life here is soo busy. My advice will be for you to find somewhere else teach where what you do is appreciated Others ummm teaching salaries are horrible , for real. teachers are going on strike every 6 months or so for higher raises . try broward county there more organized and get increased pay every so often im a student in the dade county public school systems lol you can't make it in Miami on a teachers salary. You might want to do something else on the side to supplement your income. I'm an FIU graduate myself a Criminalogy Major with a minor in Public Administration. I have a decent job but it's nt enough. I just started an internet travel Biz. to help pay the bills. go to www.YTB.com/Louwear and view the video presentation if you're interested. Good Luck!
