Activities on Anna Maria Island?

Anyone been to Anna Maria Island near Bradenton / Sarasota? We are flying into Tampa in early July and staying in the island for a week. We've never been. What are some fun activities we might enjoythere or nearby? (Two young adults, two seniors, one baby) - We will have 2 sitters if we (the parents) want to go out!

Travel Tips
Live outside area, head over to Sarasota, Ringling Museum, awesome. Try Mote Aquarium, Longboat Key, nice. Go to Bones restaurant, neat place. Also in Sarasota, Selby Gardens, historic. Have a great time!!!
Others
There is always the beach.... or shall I say different beaches in the area... There are bars and cantinas around some stores to shop in and well if you get tired of the beachy area there is always Bradenton or even Tampa (YBOR City) for the clubbers.. There is always something to do...!
